As the song goes, “It’s the happiest time of the year …”
Certainly it is, but, it’s also one of the busiest, and, Can we say it?, it’s one of the most costly. And, of course, it’s a time when everyone wants to look their absolute best.
In that spirit, we’re posting our holiday schedule, which includes expanded hours, as well as the expected closings; hosting a special “gold mine” party designed to help you earn a little extra shopping money; and introducing a fabulous new service designed to keep you looking great by eliminating curl and frizz (without removing volume) and reduce your styling time.
Christmas Week & New Year’s Week
The salon will open at 9 a.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and close at 4 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. respectively; and will be closed all day on Christmas Day and all day on New Year’s Day.
To accommodate busy schedules, the salon will open an additional day on each of those holiday weeks—Monday, December 21 and Monday, December 28. Hours and stylist availability on those days will, however, be limited, so please call ahead to book an appointment.
In addition, Don will be available for appointments on Tuesday, December 22.
January Vacation
Starting with the January 1 holiday, the salon will be closed through Wednesday, January 6, reopening on Thursday, January 7.
Diane's vacation, however, will extend through Friday, January 8. She will be back at the salon on Saturday, January 9.
It's A Gold Mine Party!
Well, it’s not actually a party. It’s more of an open house, but it’s the type of event that may leave you celebrating!
It’s a chance to kick off the holidays with a little extra spending money.
Gold is at an all-time high, and we’ve got a representative from It’s A Gold Mine Party! visiting the salon on Wednesday, December 9 from 11 a.m.-to-2 p.m. and from 5 p.m.-to-8 p.m.
She’ll be paying the official price of gold for that day—typically 15%-to-20% higher than most jewelers, since there’s no middleman involved. All you have to do is search your jewelry box for unwanted gold pieces. Broken necklaces, outdated bracelets, single earrings . . . Why not turn them in for money?
We hope to see you on Wednesday, December 9! Just stop in—or call for an appointment if you’re short on time. It only takes about 15 minutes to turn in your “old” gold and leave with something far more fun!
And for those of you coming in the evening, there’ll even be wine and cheese!
Brazilian Blowout
There’s a new kid on the block when it comes to keratin-based smoothing hair treatments. It’s called the Brazilian Blowout, and it offers some unique advantages and features that set it apart.

It Feels Like Fall ... And Schools Bells are a Ringing

Spring Is Here!
It’s Spring!
The season officially arrived at 7:44 this (March 20) morning. It’s a time of renewal—and a perfect excuse to update our salon newsletter!
For those of you in the Rye area, it’s been quite a day: After a week of fairly mild weather, we awoke to a surprise snowfall of the biggest, most beautiful snowflakes imaginable. Winter’s last hurrah didn’t last long, however. By late morning, the snow was melting, and as of this writing, the sun is shining and there’s nary a snowflake in sight.
Change is definitely afoot—and not just in the outdoors.
As of today, we’re happy to welcome back Debra Parrinello, a wonderful stylist and colorist who was part of our team for several years in the salon’s earlier history. Her professionalism and talent are a perfect addition to our already accomplished staff. For those of you who have never met Debra, we’ll be adding her picture and bio to the website’s Behind The Chair section in not-too-distant future. Make sure and check it out!

Speaking of change . . . the Refer-A-Friend program we tested during the holiday season is now an ongoing salon program!
